Family Registrations

Thank you for your interest in home based child care with our Scheme.

Children benefit in many ways from being cared for in a caring home environment.
These include:

- Personalised Care. As the Carer has a small group of children that s/he cares for, close relationships develop with each child.
This enables the Carer to provide care that is specific to the child’s individual requirements.

- Social Skills. Children in a home based care setting socialise in small mixed age family groups. Children experience interacting
with those of different cultures, family backgrounds, and varying abilities, thus encouraging tolerance and acceptance. They also
have the opportunity to mix and socialise in large groups when they attend playgroups.

- Community Outings. Home based Carers regularly take the children in their care on outing into the community. These include:
visiting the post office, doing the shopping, a picnic in the park, a browse in the library, calling in on friends.

Childcare through Alice Springs Family Day Care can be utilised:
- For work related purposes
- If you are studying or actively seeking employment
- Or for respite care (up to 20 hours per week)
